Frequently Asked Questions - SMS Feature
1 How do I send an SMS?
  Click on the “SMS” tab followed by “New SMS”. Select the “Country” (flag) and enter the mobile phone number in the format [Area code] + [Phone number]. Type your SMS message on your PC Client and click on ”Send”.
   
2 Will my phone number show up on the recipient’s SMS?
  No, the recipient will see one of our system’s phone number as the sender’s caller id. Each of the SMS messages will be appended with “MediaRing Talk : [your MRTalk ID]” so that the recipient can easily identify you
   
3. How can the recipient reply to the SMS?
  The recipient can simply hit “Reply” to the SMS they receive. The reply will land on your MediaRing Talk PC client.
   
4. What if the recipient replies to my email after 24 hours?
  We create a binding between you as a sender and the recipient for a period of 24 hours. Every time there is an exchange of an SMS, the binding gets renewed for an additional period of 24 hours. You can continue to send and receive SMS as long as the binding is in place.
   
5. Will the recipient be informed that he has to reply within 24 hours?
  If it is the first time the recipient is receiving an SMS from a MediaRing PC Client, they will receive an SMS from our system in addition to the SMS you send out. The SMS from our system will inform the recipient that they have to reply within 24 hours.
   
6. What will I be charged for each SMS?
  Rates vary based on the country. Click here for SMS rates.
   
7.. Will the recipient charged for receiving the SMS?
  Standard incoming rates apply for the recipient. Please have the recipient check with their mobile operator for any charges.
   
8. How do I know that I have received an SMS?
  When your recipient replies you with a SMS, a pop up box will appear on the lower right corner of your desktop, indicating that you have received a message. Alternatively, you can also review your received SMS by clicking on "Inbox" in the SMS tab of MediaRing Talk for PC client.
   
9. What happens to SMS replies when I am signed out?
  Replies will be delivered when you sign-in next time.
   
10. Is SMS delivery guaranteed?
  No, we make the best attempt to deliver your SMS. There are many variables including the recipient’s mobile operator which may cause non-delivery. In general, SMS delivery is fairly robust. However, interoperability issues between mobile operators still exist.
   
11. How do I send the same message to multiple recipients?
  After you click on ”SMS” followed by ”New SMS”, click on the ”phone book” icon that is next to the ”To” box. Then choose the contact from the phone book or type in the telephone number you wish to send the SMS to. Then, click on the ”+” icon, to add recipients.
   
12. Can I send bulk SMS?
  You can only send SMS messages to up to 4 parties at one time.
   
13. How do I see the status of my SMS delivery?
  Each time a SMS message is sent, a pop up box will appear on the lower right corner of your windows indicating the status of your SMS.
   
14. How do I view the SMS that I have sent out?
  Click on ”SMS” followed by the ”sent box” to view the SMS messages that you have sent.
